J/i recommends arriving in Gainesville on Thursday, Feb. 25 and departing Sunday, Feb. 28.
Air Travel

Gainesville is served by the Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV) that typically has connections through Atlanta and Charlotte, NC. Airlines that fly into Gainesville include American Eagle, Delta, United and USAirways.

For those attendees who may prefer a direct flight, or don’t mind a bit of a drive, Gainesville is approximately a 90 minute drive from both Jacksonville (JAX) and Orlando International (MCO) airports.

Accommodations

There are a number of events going on in Gainesville the last week of February. As a result, hotel accommodations are not as compact as previous years.

The Holiday Inn is the primary conference hotel, and is located mid-way between the conference locations (downtown and UF’s campus). A block of rooms has been reserved for J/i guests at $109/night. You may book here.

We are working to secure more rooms at the Hampton Inn and Suites downtown (book here $139/night with limited availability Thursday), one block from the Hippodrome Theatre, and the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center. (book here $139/night)

There are myriad other lodging options in Gainesville, few within easy walking distance of downtown. J/i recommends the Sweetwater Branch Inn, the Laurel Oak Inn and the Magnolia Plantation Bed and Breakfast Inn as smaller B&Bs near walking distance.
