We know you’re out there – you research types working on really interesting studies of digital media and digital journalism education. And we have two opportunities to get involved in Journalism Interactive.

Option 1: Find three or four other people doing related research and put together a proposal for a panel session at Journalism Interactive 2013 in Gainesville, Fla.

Option 2: Propose a poster for our Research Midway. Your project will be on display throughout the conference for fellow attendees to view. We’ll have plenty of opportunities for folks to connect and chat — who knows, you may find a new research partner…

What a great excuse to spend a February weekend in Florida!

The panels will give you a chance to talk about your research, but more importantly, they’ll give the panelists and conference attendees a great chance for conversation about research. Panel sessions will focus on conversation, not presentations – so no PowerPoint slides to prepare.

Need an added incentive? Participants in all selected panels will get free registration for the conference. Poster participants will receive $75 off registration!

The best of each category — panel and poster — as determined by conference attendees and conference committee will receive a monetary award/honorarium at the end of the conference.

To make the panels truly interactive, we’re going to ask members of the selected panels to engage in a pre-conference Google+ Hangout, which will be recorded and posted to the Journalism Interactive website so that people interested in the subject can post comments and get the conversation rolling even before the conference begins.
