The conference venue is the College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center adjacent to the University of Maryland. The street address is 3501 University Blvd, East Hyattsville, Maryland 20783.

HOTEL ROOM DISCOUNT

A discounted hotel rate of $93 per night is still available at the conference hotel, the College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, for Thursday and Friday nights, April 3 and 4. Rooms for Saturday night, April 5, are sold out at the conference hotel.

To reserve a room at the conference hotel for April 3 and 4, please call the Marriott reservation line (1-800-228-9290) and tell them you want the University of Maryland journalism conference rate at the Marriott Inn & Conference Center UMUC, using the group code JSCJSCB or JSCJSCA.

For those seeking Saturday night rooms, other hotels are conveniently located nearby on Rt. 1/Baltimore Ave. in College Park. AIR TRAVEL

The hotel is less than an hour from three major airports. Depending on traffic, Baltimore’s BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is approximately a half-hour drive away; DC’s Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is 45 minutes away by car and accessible via Metro; and Washington-Dulles International Airport (IAD) is 50 to 60 minutes.

CONFERENCE PROXIMITY TO WASHINGTON, D.C.

The conference is located just outside the city line in suburban Maryland, and inside the Beltway. It is a short walk/shuttle ride or taxi trip to two stations on Metro’s Green Line, and approximately a 20 minute ride on the train to the heart of downtown.
