Conference location

The conference venue is the Reynolds Journalism Institute at the Missouri School of Journalism. The street address for the Reynolds Journalism Institute is 401 S. 9th St. Columbia, Mo. 65211.

Hotel discounts

HOTEL DEADLINE: The deadline to book a room in the conference block for both hotels was March 23. 

Although the date to book a room in the conference blocks has passed, you can still give the hotels a call to check availability. These are the only two hotels within walking distance of RJI.

If there are no rooms available for the nights you need at the above hotels, Columbia has other hotels to choose from, but you will need to arrange transportation from the hotel to the Reynolds Journalism Institute for the conference. Here are a few suggestions.

Getting to Columbia, Mo.

Located on the edge of the University of Missouri campus in downtown Columbia, Mo., RJI can easily be accessed from the east/west by I-70 and from the north/south by highway 63.

If flying: Columbia has a small airport with only a couple flights a day from Chicago and Dallas. You have to rent a car or call a cab to pick you up at this airport. See their ground transportation page for more information. The St. Louis airport is about 2 hours away from Columbia, and Kansas City about 2.5 hours away from Columbia. MoX is a shuttle company that will pick you up from the terminal in STL or KC and drop you off at the door of your hotel for $108 round trip. There are more frequent shuttles to the STL airport than to KC. See below for helpful links.

Parking

On-campus parking is available at the Hitt St. Garage, just a block from the Reynolds Journalism Institute. Please purchase a parking permit for $8 during registration. If you purchased a parking permit during registration, you will have a parking voucher in your name badge when you check in. Redeem that for a parking permit at the registration table.

The Tiger Hotel also offers parking near the hotel for $10/day, and The Broadway for $5/day. This can be purchased when you check in.
