Apply for the Teach-a-Thon
We are seeking nominations for journalism educators to make 5- to 7-minute presentations on digital media teaching strategies and technologies they use in the classroom. We’re particularly interested in lessons/tools/concepts relating to the use of social media in reporting and storytelling, along with VR and 360 video. Strategies for teaching news verification and the identification of misinformation also are welcome. The Teach-a-thon presentations at Journalism Interactive 2017 will be held on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 20 at 4:30 p.m.
Presenters whose submissions are selected by the planning committee will have their conference registration fee waived and get seven minutes on stage to show their stuff in this rapid-fire session. Deadline for submissions:
August 1. Selection will be done on a rolling basis, with some presenters selected each month, so don’t wait to submit your proposal.
